Further steps in Tanzania

Another fruitful trip to Dodoma in Tanzania is coming to an end. This week our founders Anne Mette Bang and Thomas Ahlmann-Liisberg have been visiting Dodoma to consolidate our Tanzanian Advisory Board and conduct a key stakeholder’s meeting.

The week started with consolidation of our Tanzanian Advisory Board, consisting of

  • Directors from the Presidents office, Ministry of Health, Finance Department, Governmental ICT, Health Promotion and System Strengthening (Switzerland)

  • Regional Medical officer from Dodoma

  • Clinicians

The aim of the board is to strengthen the collaboration and drive forward our joint ambition of supporting digitalization of health in Tanzania.

On the second day the University of Dodoma hosted a key stakeholders meeting, including

  • The Deputy Minister of Health

  • The Danish Ambassador to Tanzania

  • The above mentioned organisations

  • Patients

  • Researchers

  • The University of Southern Denmark, represented by Professor Dorthe Nielsen

Professor Dorthe Nielsen presented the findings from the study of the use of My Personal Health Bank in 6 hospitals, including around 5000 patients, in the Dodoma region in Tanzania. It was very impressive and painted a clear picture that both patients and clinicians benefit from having health data available.
