My Personal Health Bank has a market potential that covers developing countries, people on the move or in general countries with no central or national healthcare systems, such as Eastern Europe. At first we aim at developing countries and people on the move with the Sub-Saharan countries Tanzania and Rwanda as test- and launchmarkets, already implementing our solution in Dodoma, Tanzania.

Low-and-middle income countries

Most people in low-and-middle income countries own a cell phone. In Tanzania that amounts to 48 mio. people out of a population of 59 mio. In Sub-Saharan Africa there are 1.1 billion owning a cell phone which is expected to be doubled by 2050. This makes it the most populated area in the world and a vast market for apps in general. This increases possibilities for a bigger demand for e-health solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa and developing countries in general. 

We have already implemented our solution in Dodoma, Tanzania as part of a feasibility study on 6 hospitals from June 2022 - Feb 2023 in cooperation with the University of Southern Denmark and the top Tanzanian universities Muhimbili University and University of Dodoma, laying the ground for a continued implementation in Tanzania and other developing countries.

The study is conducted by Professor Dorthe Nielsen (University of Southern Denmark), Professor Stephen Kibusi (University of Dodoma), Professor Dickson Mkoka (Muhimbili University), Assistant Lecturer Emmanuel Sumari (Muhimbili University) and Assistant Lecturer Musa Bago (Dodoma University). E.g., 94% strongly agree or agree with the statement “’MPHB’ makes me feel involved in my treatment”.

People on the move

According to UNHCR “at least 82.4 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes” at the end of 2020 (1). Most of these people do not have access to a central or national healthcare system, making this a go-to market for our digital web-application, available across borders and locations.

With our solution people on the move will have easy access to their personal health data, assisting e.g. NGO professionals with the difficult task of identifying patients, diagnosing and monitoring the treatment.

Countries with no central or national healthcare systems

Besides low-and-middle income countries and people on the move there are many countries with no central or national healthcare system, such as Eastern Europe, in need of a simple and easily accessible digital health solution. For this reason, the market potential for our solution is huge.
